Final Fantasy 2 Pixel Remaster - All Missable Content
In this guide we will be going over everything that is potentially missable in Final Fantasy 2 Pixel Remaster to make sure you get every Chest, Password, Bestiary Entry and Optional Location in a single playthrough without missing anything!
All Missable Chests
The 1 Chest in Altair Hideout must be opened before you complete the Mysidian Tower.
The 8 chests inside Paul’s house in Fynn can only be opened after learning the “Cyclone” Password but BEFORE actually going into the Cyclone itself.
All 10 of the chests in the Dreadnough are missable because the dungeon itself disappears after you complete it.
Same goes for the 5 chests inside the Leviathan Dungeon, the dungeon itself disappear after you complete it so make sure to get them all before finishing the dungeon.
The 7 chests inside the Cyclone Dungeon are also missable due to the same reason, this dungeon also disappears after you complete it.
All 17 chests inside Castle Palamecia, which is another dungeon that disappears once you complete it.
Missable Passwords
Dragoons: You must learn it just after the Dreadnought is destroyed, go talk to Gordon in Altair after he leaves the King's room (if you miss this one you will also not be able to get the Excalibur later on).
Ultima Tome: As soon as you learn the "Mysidia" Password, talk to Gordon in Castle Fynn and ask him about "Mysidia".
Cyclone: After you have completed the Mysidian Tower, speak to Hilda at Castle Fynn BEFORE using the Pendant in the mirror room.
Palamecia: Just after completing the Cyclone dungeon return to Castle Fynn and talk to Hilda BEFORE heading to Palamecia Castle.
Missable Bestiary Entries
#11 Phorusracos: Can be found on the world map around the area just outside the Dreadnought (they get replaced after you complete the Mysidian Tower).
#101 Mine: Can be found around Mysidia and outside the Dreadnough area, also in one of the chest ambushes inside Kashuan Keep (they will be replaced in the world map after completing the Mysidian Tower and if they all self destruct during the chest ambush in Kashuan Keep they could technically become missable).
#40 Killer Fish: Can be found in most areas of the sea while on the ship (must be done before completing Mysidian Tower).
#42 Helldiver: Can be found in most areas of the sea while on the ship (must be done before completing Mysidian Tower).
#45 Buccaneer: Can be found in most areas of the sea while on the ship (must be done before completing Mysidian Tower).
#52 Sea Snake: Can be found in most areas of the sea while on the ship (must be done before completing Mysidian Tower).
#54 Land Ray: They spawn around the desert area mostly (also must be done before completing the Mysidian Tower).
#31 Antlion: They are also found in the desert area (must be done before completing the Mysidian Tower)
#22 Skull: Inside Castle Palamecia (which is a dungeon that gets destroyed after you complete it).
#71 Eyemoeba: Inside Castle Palamecia (which is a dungeon that gets destroyed after you complete it).
#91 Black Knight: Inside Castle Palamecia (which is a dungeon that gets destroyed after you complete it).
#94 Stone Golem: Inside Castle Palamecia (which is a dungeon that gets destroyed after you complete it).
#106 General: Inside Castle Palamecia (which is a dungeon that gets destroyed after you complete it, there is also one in a chest ambush inside the Cyclone Dungeon).
Missable Locations
“Adventurous Wayfarer” Trophy, and 2 of them are technically missable.
Rebel Camp: It only appears for a short time, between just after finishing the Coliseum and BEFORE taking back Castle Fynn.
Gatrea: Just to the north-west of Altair, you must visit it at least once before completing the Mysidian Tower.
(The 3rd Optional Location is the Chocobo Forest, just to the south of Kashuan Keep, but this one isn’t missable).
Other Missable Content
This is just a couple of missable things in the game that aren’t Trophy related so they aren’t THAT important, but I feel like they are worth mentioning.
The Excalibur is technically missable if you don’t learn the “Dragoons” Password.
At the end of the Mysidian Tower Dungeon, in the room that has the Ultima Tome, there are also Silver Orbs around the room that will give you permanent stat boosts for interacting with each of them that can only be done before obtaining the Ultima Tome (Gold Orb in the middle).
