Final Fantasy 2 Pixel Remaster 100% Walkthrough - Leviathan Dungeon
Now that we have obtained the Crystal Rod from the Cave of Mysidia it is time to head to the Leviathan Dungeon.
Well technically we are supposed to be heading for the Mysidian Tower, but on our way there our ship will get dragged underwater into the Leviathan Dungeon.
Before anything else I recommend heading back into Mysidia town to heal up and maybe buy some more items if needed.
Then sail your ship north towards the island inside the circle of mountains not far from Mysidia.
When you get close to the Mysidian Tower, you will get dragged underwater into the Leviathan Dungeon!

Missable Chests Warning!
There are 5 chests in the Leviathan Dungeon and they are all missable, as when you complete the dungeon it will disappear forever, so make sure to open all 5 chests while you are here now!
(Don’t worry about the enemies, none of them are missable as they can all be found in other regions).
Luckily this dungeon is very short and all 5 chests are very easy to find, so let’s get started!
1F
In this first room, there are 2 chests, and they are both on the main path, very hard to miss.
Be aware that there is acid tiles on the ground that will damage you every time you step on it so try to backtrack the least amount as possible.
The first chest on the left contains a Twist Headband, and then the next one just a bit further up the path has a Power Sash.
After opening both of them, go through the door at the end to reach 2F.
2F
When you arrive in 2F, the first thing you should do is go to the middle room at the top to get the chest that contains the Power Armlet just to make sure you don’t forget.
That is the only chest on this floor, so once you have opened it, talk with the Dragoon blocking your way and choose Key Items > Crystal Rod.
This will result in the Dragoon joining your party, his name is Ricard and he specializes in using Spears.
Once he joins, go through the door at the top left to reach 3F.

3F
On this floor you will be able to find the last 2 chests for this dungeon.
The one at the top of the room has the Gaia Blade, and the one at the bottom has a Diamond Shield, be careful, the one at the bottom also has an enemy ambush!
Before advancing towards the boat on the left, which is where the Boss Fight is, double check in the map menu to make sure you have picked up all 5 chests from the dungeon before it is too late!
Roundworm Boss Fight
When you are ready, approach the boat on the left side of the room to find the Roundworm blocking the access to the boat.
Interact with it to start the boss fight.
There isn’t any unique strategy against this boss, just hit it with your most powerful moves, buff your team when needed, and be prepared for Ricard to die a few times as he is still a bit underleveled when he joins the party.
Once you defeat the boss, interact with the boat to leave the dungeon (remember you can never return here once you leave).
Our next main objective will be the Mysidian Tower!
