Zelda Ocarina of Time Walkthrough – Start Here, 100% Checklist and Chapter List

Start Here · Overview

This is a full 100% walkthrough for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake on Nintendo Switch 2. It is split into chapters that follow the story in order, and each chapter also picks up every Heart Piece, Gold Skulltula, upgrade and side quest that becomes available at that point, so you never have to backtrack more than necessary.

What Counts as 100%

100% means collecting everything below. Each chapter ends with a checklist so you can tick these off as you go.

  • 36 Pieces of Heart and 8 Heart Containers (one from each boss), for a total of 20 hearts.
  • 100 Gold Skulltulas, handed in at the House of Skulltula in Kakariko Village for wallet upgrades, the Stone of Agony, Bombchus, a Heart Piece and a Huge Rupee.
  • 3 Spiritual Stones and 6 Medallions.
  • 12 songs, Zelda's Lullaby, Epona's Song, Saria's Song, Sun's Song, Song of Time, Song of Storms, Minuet of Forest, Bolero of Fire, Serenade of Water, Nocturne of Shadow, Requiem of Spirit and Prelude of Light, plus the optional Scarecrow's Song.
  • All equipment, the Kokiri Sword, Master Sword and Biggoron's Sword, the Deku, Hylian and Mirror Shields, the Kokiri, Goron and Zora Tunics, and the Kokiri, Iron and Hover Boots.
  • All items, Deku Sticks, Deku Nuts, Bombs, the Fairy Bow, Fire, Ice and Light Arrows, Din's Fire, Farore's Wind, Nayru's Love, the Fairy Slingshot, the Ocarina of Time, Bombchus, the Longshot, the Lens of Truth, Magic Beans, the Megaton Hammer, the Boomerang, 5 Bottles and the end of the adult trading quest.
  • All upgrades, the Biggest Bomb Bag, Biggest Quiver, Biggest Bullet Bag, Giant's Wallet, Golden Scale, Golden Gauntlets, 30 Deku Stick and 40 Deku Nut capacity, Double Magic, Double Defense, the Stone of Agony and the Gerudo Membership Card.
  • All masks from the Happy Mask Shop, ending with the Mask of Truth.

How Gold Skulltulas Work

Gold Skulltulas are golden spiders that drop a Gold Skulltula Token when defeated. Grab the token with your sword, the Boomerang or the Hookshot if it's out of reach. The game tracks your total on the Collection menu.

  • Outdoor Gold Skulltulas mostly appear at night. Play the Sun's Song to switch to night once you've learned it.
  • Soft soil patches sometimes hide a Gold Skulltula. Release Bugs from a Bottle on the soil to make it dig out.
  • Trees hide some of them. Roll into the tree to knock the Skulltula down.
  • The Stone of Agony (20 tokens) makes the controller rumble near hidden grottos, which helps with a few Heart Pieces too.

House of Skulltula Rewards

The House of Skulltula is in Kakariko Village. Talk to the cursed family inside to collect these rewards.

  • 10 tokens, Adult's Wallet (holds 200 Rupees)
  • 20 tokens, Stone of Agony
  • 30 tokens, Giant's Wallet (holds 500 Rupees)
  • 40 tokens, Bombchus (10)
  • 50 tokens, Piece of Heart
  • 100 tokens, Huge Rupee (200 Rupees), and the last family member is cured

Missable Items

Nothing important in Ocarina of Time is permanently missable. Some things can only be done as child Link and others only as adult Link, but once you have the Master Sword you can travel between the two ages at the Temple of Time whenever you like. The chapters point out which collectibles have to wait until you can travel back.
