Hiding in a shed across the river in the Cursed Hollow is Seamus Diggory, a soldier who deserted his post because he is convinced he is turning into a vampire. He won't come outside, he claims he's allergic to sunlight, and there is just one step left in his "transformation". He needs to drink blood.
“The Curious Case of Seamus Diggory” is one of the shorter side quests in Valor Mortis. You can bring Seamus either a bottle of blood or a bottle of wine, and both complete the quest, give you a Ferrofluid Flask Power Upgrade and unlock the “Blood and Wine” Trophy/Achievement. We recommend the wine though, it gets you 3,000 Catalysts instead of 1,000, and Seamus takes it a lot better.
Starting the Quest
From the "Silent Cannons" Lantern in the Cursed Hollow region, cross the river to reach a small cabin on the other side. Talk to Seamus Diggory through the window of the cabin to start the side quest.
He will give you an Empty Bottle and ask you to fill it with blood.
Getting the Blood and Wine
Both bottles can be found by going through the small house just to the right of where you start the quest. On the other side of the house is an opening with an Elite dog-type enemy, and a dead pig lying on the ground. Interact with the pig to fill your bottle and get the Blood-Filled Bottle.
You can also find the Bottle of Wine in this same area, inside the hut just behind the pig.
Blood or Wine?
Head back to Seamus's window and give him one of the two bottles. Either one completes the side quest and gives you the Ferrofluid Flask Power Upgrade, but the rest is different.
- Bottle of Wine: Seamus is thrilled with the taste and believes he really has become a vampire. You get 3,000 Catalysts.
- Blood-Filled Bottle: Seamus hates the taste, and is so crushed he won't talk to you any more. You only get 1,000 Catalysts.
The wine is the better choice of the two.
