Final Fantasy Resonance: Best MRP Farm Spot

MRP (Mastery Points) is what you earn by fighting with a Vision equipped in Final Fantasy Resonance. Earn enough and the Vision's Mastery Rank goes up, so if you want to level up your Visions fast, you need a good MRP farm.

The best spot we've found is a small piece of land just to the west of the Sanctum of the Onion Knight on the Dirnado Continent. The only enemies that can appear there are Cactuars, which give 200+ MRP each and can be beaten in seconds once you know how.

You'll need the Airship to reach it, which you unlock in Chapter 5 of the main story.

Where to Farm MRP

Fly the Airship to the Sanctum of the Onion Knight on the Dirnado Continent, then head a short way west to the small piece of land next to it. Land the Airship there and walk around to start random battles.

Every single battle on this piece of land is one Cactuar, nothing else can appear, so there's no time wasted on enemies that give little MRP. That's what makes it so much better than the other places.

How to Get There
  1. Play the main story until you unlock the Airship in Chapter 5.
  2. Fly to the Dirnado Continent and find the Sanctum of the Onion Knight.
  3. Head just west of the Sanctum to the small piece of land and land the Airship.

How to Beat Cactuars Fast

Cactuars only have a little HP, but they have very high evasion against both physical attacks and magic, so most of your attacks will miss if you just use normal attacks.

Use Ice and Water

Cactuars are weak to Ice and Water, so bring characters and Visions with Ice or Water attacks so every hit that lands does extra damage, if you are using magic try to use spells that hit multiple times or combine them with Magic Barrage or Dualcast.

Use Attacks That Can't Miss

Because of their high evasion, focus on attacks with guaranteed hits, such as Noctis's Barrage or Terra's Ultima. If you don't have those yet, use attacks that hit multiple times, since every extra hit is another chance to land damage.

Break Them

Cactuars stop evading while they're in Break. Their Break gauge is small, so if a fight drags on, filling it up makes the rest of your attacks land.

Don't Use Earth

Cactuars are immune to Earth, so Earth attacks do nothing to them. Swap them out before you start farming.

Get Even More MRP

MRP Boosts
  • Play on Expert: Expert difficulty gives 1.5× MRP from every battle (Casual and Normal give the normal amount). Cactuars have more HP and dodge more on Expert, so only switch once you can still beat them quickly.
  • Mastery Pendant: this accessory has the Double MRP ability, which doubles the MRP you earn (The Mastery Pendant is the final treasure in the Airship Radar Upgrades & Treasure Events which we have a full video guide on HERE if you are interested).
  • Victoria's Vision: Victoria's Vision unlocks MRP Gain +50% at Mastery level 7.
Bonus Magicite Shards

Cactuars carry a Magicite Shard as their rare steal, so if you have a character who can steal, it's worth trying while you farm. Magicite Shards are used to awaken your Visions.
